Maryland Comptroller recognizes local company for innovation
(Thursday, July 21, 2017) As a holding company with an innovative and diverse collection of industry-leading firms, HighRock Group was honored to receive the 2017 Bright Lights Award issued by Peter Franchot, Comptroller of the State of Maryland.
The 2017 Bright Lights Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship recognizes and celebrates innovation in the private and nonprofit sectors that strengthen Maryland’s economy, generate jobs and tax revenue, and develop new ideas that more effectively deliver services and products within the marketplace, as explained on the Comptroller of Maryland website.
“I decided to enact these awards – the Bright Lights Award - for innovation and entrepreneurship in order to celebrate the private sector,” said Comptroller Franchot. “The genius of the private sector is that we have … opportunity for people to invest their sweat equity, but also take big risks. I’m proud that HighRock Group is here in Hagerstown. I really appreciate the fact that you’re supporting Hagerstown, Washington County, Western Maryland. Thank you for making a difference in the state of Maryland.”
“The entire HighRock team is honored to have received the Bright Lights Award,” said Rich Daughtridge, President & CEO of HighRock Group. “We appreciate Comptroller Franchot and the State of Maryland for recognizing the importance of innovation and technology, while supporting small businesses and empowering entrepreneurs throughout the state, especially in Washington County.”
